Contest Rules

General Rules

  • The contest will begin on Saturday, January 20 and will end on March 30.
  • Each project week begins on Saturday and ends on Friday, though you can submit your self-assessment report up until 11:59 pm on Saturday.
  • Complete all elements of one project each week (no more, no less) to receive the prize for that week.
  • There is no time-on-task requirement. Take as long or as little as you need to complete each task.
  • Complete the project for all four project weeks in order to be eligible for the $500 prize.
  • Digital solo projects may be chosen up to two times (they will be indicated on the calendar as well as in your self-assessment surveys). Choosing more than two digital solo projects will disqualify you from the $500 prize, though you can still receive the weekly prizes.
  • Complete all self-evaluations and time reports for the tasks completed to demonstrate completion and eligibility for the weekly prize.
  • Submit Reflection Follow-ups (the storytelling task) using an active URL that is viewable to a public or semi-public audience (on social media, a blog, or a shareable cloud document). Failure to submit the URL disqualifies you from that week’s payment.

Adaptations for ASL

  • All input tasks (listening, reading, viewing) must be viewed in video format or live.
  • All online chat tasks must be in video format either synchronous or asynchronous.
  • Reflections submitted in ASL may be in video format regardless of the week.
